A vibrant artwork portraying a woman in traditional attire holding a blue flower, with bold patterns and colors.
The central theme focuses on the beauty and simplicity of rural life, symbolized by the woman holding a blue flower. It highlights the relationship between humans, nature, and tradition.
The painting employs a modernist, abstract figurative style. The use of geometric shapes and simplified forms adds a sense of abstraction, while the woman's traditional attire connects it to cultural roots.
This painting would be a great choice for a living room or a study, where its vibrant colors and serene mood can add warmth and cultural richness to the space.
The mood of the painting is serene yet lively, blending a sense of calmness through the woman’s peaceful expression and vibrant energy with the use of bold colors and patterns.
The composition is well-balanced, with the figure of the woman placed centrally. The diagonals in her posture and the geometric checkered background create dynamism, while the blue flower draws attention upwards.
The color palette is vibrant, with dominant reds, oranges, and earthy tones in the foreground contrasted against soft blues and greens in the background, giving the artwork depth and warmth.

Part of Sid Katragadda's "Dark Indian Women" Abstract Portrait series. Katragadda believes that an artist's primary objective should be to capture a culture Ð and that a culture, or ethnicity, can be best understood through its women (because society shapes its women). He paints colorful and elaborately dressed, voluptuous, dark Indian women - paying equal attention to their omnipresent bindis and resplendent ornaments as he does to their vibrant draped saris and brilliant blouses.
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass. Always keep artworks away from direct sunlight and also from walls having water leakage problem, - as both can damage it.
