ORIGINAL 100% PURE HAND PAINTED SHRINATHJI PICHWAI PAINTING ON FABRIC. The word Pichwai has its roots in the Sanskrit pich (behind) and wai (hanging). A traditional art form that emerged in the 17th Century at the Nathdwara temple in Rajasthan, Pichwais are intricate paintings dedicated to Shrinathji and are typically hung behind the idol of the deity in local shrines. Pichwai is a traditional style of painting from Rajasthan. The word Pichwai stands for hanging at the back (Sanskrit word "Pichh" means back and "wais" means hanging). Pichhwai paintings are big sized paintings done on cotton cloth using natural colors and are hung behind the idol of Lord Shrinath Ji to depict his leelas. It intricate the various art form with color play combination to make your home and office interior graceful.
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass.
