Dreamy Wash Paintings From the ArtistÕs desk This is a very old technique originated in Shanti Niketan of West Bengal India. Now a days itÕs a dying art as only 5 to 6 people in the country is actually doing it. This is what inspired me. You can find similar paintings in National gallery of Modern art Delhi. I visited the gallery ages ago and was keen to learn this and finally made it. ItÕs a technique where you wash the paper after every coat of color that is applied. I simply over enjoyed doing this painting. This is an Original Handmade painting. Made of heavy gsm / weight paper & water color. this is a unique style of painting called as wash painting. Disclaimer Ð every painting is hand crafted individually & unique in its own. Pictures are just the representation of the actual artwork or painting. In actual the colors will vary slightly due to effect of the camera.
Ideally paintings don't require much care as its a vertical surface, hence dust doesn't settle quite easily. You can gently dry dust the painting once in a month. You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass. Always keep artworks away from direct sunlight and also from walls having water leakage problem, - as both can damage it.
