A captivating portrayal of a sunset at Varanasi Ghats, reflecting the serenity and cultural richness of the sacred riverfront.
The spiritual and cultural essence of Varanasi is captured, focusing on the sacred Ghats and life along the river, invoking a deep connection to nature, culture, and spirituality.
The painting blends realism with impressionism, allowing for detailed architectural forms combined with expressive use of light and color to evoke emotion, especially in the water and sky.
This painting would be ideal for a living room, meditation space, or office, as it brings a calming, spiritual vibe to the area, encouraging reflection and peace. This artwork will complement any room or space beyond those mentioned, depending on individual preference.
The mood is serene and reflective, evoking a sense of spiritual calm and connection to the ancient city of Varanasi. The quiet silhouettes of boats and people add to the tranquil atmosphere.
The composition uses a strong horizontal layout, with the Ghats and buildings on the right leading the eye towards the river. The reflection in the water creates a balanced and harmonious visual rhythm.
Warm hues dominate the sky with an orange and yellow sunset, contrasted by dark blues and blacks of the night sky. The reflections in the water add dynamic splashes of brightness and warmth.

The splended Ghats (Riverfront) of Varanasi are always full of people, spirituality, devotion and superstitions. It’s a pure bliss to sit on these ghats, especially in the evening. I remember this moment, it looked so vibrant with the lights on the Ghats, hues of the sky and the reflection of the setting sun through Ganges. It painted a beautiful image in my mind which then I decided to paint the moment on a canvas.
These ghats are 5 kilometres long, but every nook and corner of it inspired me to paint.
There is an array of things to see on these ghats, like cool cafes at Assi Ghat, artists creating and selling paintings, people from all parts of the world, Ganga Arti (Rituals), Cremation at Manikarnika Ghat and much more.

You can also gently use a slightly damp cloth and dab it gently over the surface to capture the dust particles. You can do this once in 6 months.
Please do not use soap water, detergent, disinfectants or any chemicals over the painting as it might dissolve the colors. Paper and cloth paintings are usually framed with a glass on top, hence the artwork will remain intact. You would just need to clean the glass.
