The death of a Dream- is about the dreams we see at the time of our teenage. In this painting, the dreamer used the dream to have a true soul mate and a successful career of a rock star. The girl he thought to be his god gifted soul mate changed in the course of 1year completely and refused to carry on with him. It was not only her fault. He himself continued to realise that the soul mate he wanted only exists in his imagination. And he mistakenly forced himself to believe that his girlfriend is THE soul mate. So the relationships died along with his believe upon the relationship. According to Imtiaz AliÕs ÒRockstar,Ó a broken heart is good for the artistic career of musicians. But in real life, broken heart is not enough for a career like that. It takes years of hard work. Unluckily a boy from a middle-class background not always can afford those years to work on music. The responsibility of his family pushes him to look for alternative career line for instant earnings. In this way, his dream of being a rockstar dies too. The lines both vertically and horizontally define the dimension of time.
